​KOMBATAN LAPPEENRANTA

​I have been interested in martial arts since I was young, but my serious training started in the fall of 2003 with the Korean Han Moo do basic course. I spent more than 10 years in the sport. In 2011, GM Rami Vainionpää came to guide the first Sin Moo Hapkido camp in Lappeenranta, which is also where my Sin Moo Hapkido training began. I also heard about Kombatan for the first time from Rami, and my interest in the sport remained incubating and growing for a couple of years. In 2015, I decided to contact Kombatan Instructor Guro Joel Pentikäinen, and together with him we organized the first Kombatan intro camp in Lappeenranta. The Kombatan seemed great and we immediately went to Kombatan Finland's 15th anniversary camp to get additional lessons. Here I also met GM Tomi Harell for the first time, with whom I have been working closely ever since and practicing Kombatan almost daily. I founded FMA Lappeenranta ry in 2016 together with Pasi Lehtonen and Heikki Vehmas.
