Guro Joe Liebminger’s martial arts journey theoretically began at the age of 6, when he first saw a Bruce Lee film. It was then that he decided he wanted to learn martial arts someday.
A few more years passed before he actually started training. He began with Krav Maga, then moved on to Hap Ki Do, and also practiced some Kombatan with the same group. When that group disbanded, he shifted to Muay Thai, which he practiced passionately for several years, even competing in matches. Throughout this time, he continued training in Krav Maga.

Together with Guro Anni Liebminger, who also started with Krav Maga, he attended numerous seminars and instructor camps in both Krav Maga and Filipino martial arts. In 2009, they met Guro Perry Zmugg, under whom they trained as Kombatan Arnis students before eventually beginning their instructor training with him. Since then, they have focused solely on Filipino martial arts.
2019 they founded their own club "Arnis Fight Club Leoben", where they are teaching children and adults.
