Henning Hansen embarked on his martial arts journey in 1984, laying the groundwork for a lifelong commitment to the fighting arts. In 1994, he underwent a significant transition by delving into Filipino martial arts, specifically Modern Arnis/Kombatan, which marked a pivotal moment in his martial arts career. 

Throughout his martial arts exploration, Henning has cultivated a diverse skill set, with a consistent focus on Kombatan as his fundamental practice. His experiences extend to various martial arts disciplines, including Inanyan Escrima, Muay Thai, Tai Chi, Jujutsu and boxing, showcasing his versatility and open-minded approach to martial arts training.

In 2023, Henning achieved the title of Lakan Anim, Senior Master in Kombatan under the guidance of Grandmaster Ernesto Presas Jr., highlighting his proficiency and dedication to Kombatan. In 2008 he got the title Master and Lakan Lima under the founder of Kombatan GGM Ernesto Presas Sr. He earned his first black belt in Filipino martial arts (Modern Arnis) in the year 2000. Additionally, he holds the rank of Katalungang Guro in Kali Sikaran, he has also attained a Black Belt 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate.​
