KOMBATAN ARGENTINA
In 1996, thanks to the help and management of Flora Bacosa, cultural attaché at that time from the Philippine Embassy in Argentina, Gustavo began his journey in the world of the arts Filipino martial arts.
This connection led him to be put in contact with the general management of Kombatan and the
IPMAF, from where he was referred to Professor Noli Zaldívar, a direct disciple of the Grand Master Ernesto Presas Sr. and head of the entire region of Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. With this connection, Professor Noli and his main student, Francisco Javier Santos Camacho, began to provide him with training in Argentina, through the trips he Francisco performed.
Finally, in 2000, Professor Noli awarded him the Representation of the Modern Arnis of
Kombatan Presas Style hand at the same time that the IPMAF conferred on him the honorable task of teach and spread this Filipino martial art in Argentina, designating it as the only representative for the country. Since then, Kombatan Argentina has had the support, endorsement and recognition of both the Embassy and of the Filipino Community in Argentina. This historic alliance, led by Gustavo, marked the beginning of a new stage in the practice of Kombatan in Argentina, providing not only instruction and training to a wide variety of institutions but also promoting Filipino culture through the arts martial.
